The BMW 435 takes the 4 Series recipe and turns the dial up. Available as a coupe, convertible or Gran Coupe, it ran in the UK from 2013 to 2020 before handing the baton to the 440i. Sitting just below the fire-breathing M4, the 435 has enough punch to thrill without sacrificing comfort. Rivals like the Audi A5 and Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe might look the part, but the BMW's balance of sharp handling and high-quality finish keeps it at the top of many shopping lists. Under the bonnet, you'll find smooth six-cylinder engines that make motorway miles fly by. Later cars added Apple CarPlay and digital dials, and most come with leather, climate control and BMW's iDrive system as standard. Running costs are steeper than the four-cylinder 4 Series, but in return you get a confident, capable all-rounder that feels special every time you drive it.
