Different types of wheelbase
Short wheelbase
(SWB)
The shortest wheelbase option. It's the easiest to manoeuvre in tight streets and car parks, so it's popular for city driving and multi-drop work, but you get less load length.
Medium wheelbase
(MWB)
A middle ground between agility and space. It usually gives you a useful boost in load length without feeling too bulky on the road, making it a common “do-it-all” choice.
Long wheelbase
(LWB)
A longer wheelbase that prioritises load length and carrying ability. It's better suited to bigger loads and longer items, but it needs more room for turning and parking.
Extra-long wheelbase
(XLWB)
The longest option on some vans. It's built for maximum load length and volume, ideal for specialist trades or bulky kit, but it can be less convenient in built-up areas.
