The Marmite styling of BMW’s big iX can be forgiven once you hop in and realise it is a spacious, comfortable and wonderfully refined SUV to live with. Its cabin is smart and packed to the gunwales with cutting-edge tech, while a recent refresh sees some of the best electric range in the class. If you can afford it, the iX injects some serious luxury into the family SUV sector, but you can get more space and greater levels of practicality for less with larger rivals.
