Known for nimble handling and a clever use of space, it balances urban agility with a surprisingly roomy interior. Launched in 2012 and built until 2022, the i3 was designed as an electric car from the ground up, featuring a distinctive shape and lightweight carbonfibre and aluminium construction. Over time, battery and specification upgrades improved range and ride quality, with the sportier i3s variant introduced in 2017. Compared to rivals like the Nissan Leaf or VW e-Golf, the i3 is more purpose-built and advanced, offering peppy acceleration, sharp steering, and modern high-quality interior materials.
