Expert Opinion

Another in the supremely popular and consistently excellent 3 Series, the 328 sits towards the top end of the list of performance options. Coming with just a 2.0 litre petrol engine, it faces stiff competition from the similarly sized diesel - arguably the most popular 3 Series, the 320d. There's plenty to set it apart however, such as improved performance and an impressive 245bhp of power; typically smooth ride and handling, and the usual pristine finishings and equipment. The diesel 320d might still attract more drivers, while those who are petrol-loyal might be tempted by the more affordable 320i, but it is the 328 which is arguably the most attractive, and impressively powerful, option.
