Overall rating 3.5/5The Evoque was Land Rover’s answer to an affordable SUV that is more suited to the urban hustle than the wilderness. Introduced in 2011, the Range Rover Evoque might be Land Rover’s smallest, most fuel-efficient SUV. But in contrast to a sea of other SUVs, the Evoque is well-proportioned and stylish.
Apart from the design, it also featured a luxurious cabin with ample features and trick terrain response tech from bigger Land Rovers. Offered in both 3-door and 5-door guise, the SUV was updated in 2018 with the second-generation with a mature design language in line with other Land Rovers. Good body control and handling for an SUV were Evoque’s next two tricks up its sleeve. This combined with a refined, and comfortable drive ensures it is one of the popular premium SUVs in the market. If you want the most affordable ticket to Land Rover ownership with an SUV that doesn’t intimidate you with its size and price, the Range Rover Evoque remains the pick of the lot.

When buying a used Land Rover Range Rover Evoque, there are some important things to look for. One should always check for any power loss or knocking sounds from the powertrain, and whether the gearbox is shifting through the gears smoothly. You should take extra care when inspecting an early model as they suffer from electrical, transmission and turbocharger issues. The Land Rover Range Rover Evoque has a mixed reliability rating. The early generation of the Range Rover Evoque has many reported reliability issues, some of which are also expensive to fix. For example, the early 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine’s turbocharger is a weak point along with other electrical and transmission problems. Land Rover improved upon these with the second generation Evoque, but as with any Land Rover SUV, it could end up being an expensive purchase if you buy a troublesome car with neglected maintenance.
The Land Rover Range Rover Evoque has been offered with numerous engine options over its production years. The popular petrol engines mostly come in 2.0-litre size while the diesels are offered in both 2.0 and 2.2-litre. The latest PHEV, on the other hand, is a much smaller petrol engine, which is a 1.5-litre in size.
