Find the used car that calls to you in Newcastle upon Tyne. Wondering what you need to know? Road-wise, there's a bit of everything. Newcastle’s got its fair share of bustling A-roads and city centre streets, but there are plenty of quieter suburban lanes winding up towards the coast or down to Gateshead. Bear in mind that ring roads can get a tad congested during peak hours, especially on approaches to the Tyne Bridge, Central Motorway and A1.
The Newcastle and Gateshead Clean Air Zone (CAZ) covers the city centre and the Tyne and Swing Bridges. While most cars aren't currently charged, taxis, vans and lorries might need to meet minimum emissions standards or pay daily charges. If you'll mostly be making short urban trips, a compact hatchback or crossover could be a sound choice. But if you're hoping to venture out to Northumberland or the coast every other weekend, something with a steadier motorway stride might come in handy.
