Purchased new in 2010 garaged 24/7 just sold at 22600 miles only . This was my forth L200 . Apart from two recalls for rear springs/shackles , it has never let me down , had early issues with central locking not activating unless standing behind vehicle . Eventually resolved by replacing ECU , rear camera intermittent failure ,Kenwood info unit replaced twice . Fault traced to damaged camera feed wire on installation . Otherwise trouble free for nine years . Excellent vehicle pays to look after it .Purchased Barbarian x awaiting arrival

I am frustrated with the AA finance company, who never returned my calls or my email. So no, we did not buy the car as they didn't contact us. I have always liked this website until now. All we wanted was some answers if the car was available, where we could view it. Very disappointed will not be using them ever!

73000 miles 5000pounds runs like a train very reliable drives well on motorways but is a little thirsty. Leather seats fitted for comfort and better wear. Love this vehicle but costs a bit on fuel

I bought my truck just over four years ago. I chose it over the Toyota HiLux and VW Amrok because it was the only one that offered two (rear) wheel drive (for economy), four wheel on-road drive (for slippy conditions), four wheel off-road drive (locked diffs) and low box four wheel off-road drive. The truck performs well on and off road, with little sway when on road. It's very comfortable and has pretty good spec (SatNav etc.) Over the four years, there have been few problems and tyre wear has been very slow. The only disappointment has been Mitsubishi's approach to warranty work. It seems hat there approach is if they can get out of it, they will: I have had several other types of cars and fourxfours before, but have never experienced anything like this. This really lets the truck down.

This pick up is the best 4x4 i've had (and i've had a few) the double cab makes it a great family vehicle with good space and load carrying in the back. Mpg is about 30 which is not bad for such a big vehicle, Much better turning circle than earlier models.

Has anyone else had starting difficulties on the Mitsubishi L200, 4X4, auto transmission, 2.5 liters Turbo Diesel, after having reached 200,000 Kilometers? This is my second time, first with a 1999 year model, now with a 2007 year model. Looks like low compression, however, it drives fine .

I bought this truck last January second hand. I missed a couple of points like the rear leaf springs being broken but I suppose I shouldn't have trusted the garage that did their own MOT's. After getting it where I wanted it I have started to like the truck. I swapped the steel wheels for some wider alloys to stop it feeling like it wanted to fall over at every roundabout and would recomend anyone wanting to buy one of these to for a higher spec than a 4life which is what I have. I had the older shape L200 before this and loved it and thatwas a 4life but the new shape has lost some of the refinements of the old shape. That said it is better on fuel and there is more room in the back. Another not so strong point is the materials in the build, everything seems more flimsy and not as strong as the old shape. I can't say I love this truck like I did with the old one, but I do like it.

Although a little heavy on fuel it is extremely reliable and practical and very effective in adverse weather, which was the main reason for purchase. It is also very comfortable and has a feel of luxury.

I drive this type of car for business & as my family car. I pick up & deliver bricks for cutting, tow a trailer for my work & it is a fantastic car. It is the main family car as well. It does every thing I have asked of it

I looked around at a lot of 4x4s for my sporting asperations - I am a keen sea-angler and often need to transport my gear for an overnight session to some remote spot. Reviews were really helpful and I settled on Mitsubishi's legendary L200. I chose a crew-cab pickup wit leather interior - it carries four in comfort and a large pickup load-bay takes everything including a brazier and 10ft inflatable boat and its outboard. I found the reliability top-notch. Not a single failure of any feature. One reason for choice was I wanted manual transmission. This can be set (using a second gear lever) as 2wd Hi-ratio, 4wd Hi-ratio and 4wd Lo-ratio. Being a physical lever, there is no electronics to give up the ghost coz they got soaked miles from anywhere crossing a river. This thing is strong. The 2.5 litre engine is very torquey, it will carry a ton in the back and tow another 3 with ease! In 4wd, it is incredibly sure-footed - just a joy to power through Scottish forest tracks or tip-toe over sand and shingle banks below the water line. They are not quick by any means - they will do 100MPH (if no -one is watching) but the gearing means you are at 3000 revs at 70 MPH so really, 80 is too fast for them (especially as they have been know to have engine problems over prolonged hi-speed). Also at 70 the engine noise is quite noticeable. When I go to Scotland, I stick at 70 all the way and she is a joy to drive. Fuel economy is not fantastic - to be expected for a load shifter of 2.5 tonnes. I tend to get 27-30 MPG on mixed urban/run and about 32 on a concerted long motorway run. In 4wd, economy drops sharply but as you should only use this when you need, who cares? In the Snow it will climb out of most dips and was a real godsend in the last two bad winters. Strong as an ox, I am sure you could drive it up a wall. What don't I like? I wish it had a six speed box - or overdrive. On the motorway that 3000 revs at 70MPH really does feel like I am asking too much. Can be surprisingly affected by high cross-winds. You get into the mindset that you are driving a tough, heavy vehicle and it can be a downer to feel that side-push. Really well equipped truck and tough as boots - metal panels are a bit thin though and easily dented - look on the road they nearly all seem to have bad dings on the tailgate. I am very happy with mine, it has been so useful and although parked up for a good portion of the time (I commute in something more economical and don't get away every weekend) I don't feel it is wasting money. There is a real joy in taking an old kitchen appliance to the recycling centre - just think what it is like with a car... seats down, shoving and heaving, scratches... repeat... With this, I just open up and chuck it in - I have to anchor it down to stop it flying around inside! Road tax is £200+ because although it is quite high CO2, it is classed as a commercial vehicle which is a nice dodge :o) on the down side, not all insurers will take them. Mine is on an Admiral multicar policy.

A great truck. ideal for families and commercial alike. A bit difficult to park at times and you need to be picky when choosing a space in a car park. Turning circle could be a lot better and a better mpg. You need to be very careful when reversing as there is blind spots. I would still get another one though when the time comes because it's so practical to have. A nice car in the front with a big area at the back to get messy if need be.
