Tony began his career as an apprentice mechanic at a local independent garage, laying the foundations for a lifelong passion for motoring and road safety. He went on to become an AA Patrol, earning the prestigious title of AA Patrol of the Year in 2013. Following the death of a family friend, Tony inspired the AA’s Think Bike Campaign, a widely respected initiative promoting motorcycle awareness, and became a Trustee of the AA Charitable Trust. His dedication to safer roads was recognised internationally when he received the 2015 FIM Global Road Safety Award. A committed road safety advocate and car enthusiast, Tony continues to champion initiatives that make travel safer for everyone through his work in the AA Press Office.
Outside of work, he enjoys running, cycling, and walking, and loves touring with his family in their cherished 1999 VW T4 campervan — a nod to his enduring love of vehicles and the open road.
