Had this for 7 yrs now, passed MoT without need for repair every year so only servicing and tyres even though its 16 years old. Zero depreciation, low insurance, very quick and 34 mpg. Beautiful white leather interior and M style steering wheel with all the on wheel buttons for radio and cruise control. Full aircon. Why bother to change to high depreciation small tin box with higher insurance cost. As I only do a small mileage (<5000), that's a no brainer. Super car and recommended if you can find one but check its fully maintained and the MOT fault record.

Bought this car for £1750 4 years ago and spent another £700 servicing and improving it, replacing tyres, etc. Since then it has been extremely reliable, needing very little work beyond normal servicing which is carried out by an excellent BMW specialist BMtec in Salford. It has sailed through 3 out of 4 of its MOTs and needed very little work to get through the other one. I will find it very difficult to part with this car when the time comes. Although it is now over 16 years old the only car I have driven recently that comes close to matching its ride quality and general ambience is the Jaguar XF. Newer cars have better technology and fuel consumption but that is about all. If it keeps going for another couple of years I will be very happy.

Had this 528 for 7 years. Always passed Mot without additional work (though I do use a Beemer specialist garage for servicing, not a main dealer), manages 36mpg on a run (2.8 litre PETROL!!!), white leather inside, air con etc, etc, goes like stink if you want it too or potters round without complaint (find me another car that will hit 150mph - I'm told - and take full throttle in 5th at 20mph without pinking/shuddering etc. Keep thinking - got to change it, its so old, then try the potential replacements --- no deal, I've got a far better car that costs practically nothing to run as depreciation stopped years ago. I wonder when I'll change it!! Wife likes it too - she falls asleep within 20 mins of starting a journey (when we get to the motorway), and wakes up when we get to the first traffic lights near where we are going! Bliss!
