The car only has a low mileage but after 17 years travels well, in comfort ant dependable. Had the car since new and very pleased with it. Only drawback is that it does about 22 mpg.

6th 525 since 1988. Total miles driven 700000. No engine, gearbox or running gear failures. 3 of 6 run to in excess of 200000 miles. Regular services important. Current 523 58,000 miles . No problems. Lovely comfortable car with lots of extras. 31 miles per gallon overall, mixed motoring. 40 on long trips. Car £41000 new . Cost £8500 in May with 45000 miles and main dealer service history!! A lot of car for the money.

UNRELIABLE AND UNCOOPERATIVE SERVICE. NEVER EVER BUY A BMW AGAIN.IT WAS OFF THE ROAD EVERY FEW WEEKS MOSTLY WITH SIMILAR PROBLEMS . STILL HAVING TROUBLE NOW OUTSDE THE WARRANTY.

Delightful car to drive. Do not like the radio (as it has a mind of its own) or the idrive system.

BMW need to develop a separate sensor system for flat tyre vs just a small drop in tyre pressure. The sensor alert goes off even with a small discrepancy in pressure particularly driving on motorways for some reason. This is very distracting and happens frequently. Only once has there been a puncture which of course we need an alert for but the system is over zealous and over sensitive. A solution is needed. Potholes are a big issue too
