This humble sedan came into existence as the W201 190E and 190D, often known as the Baby Benz due to its compact dimensions and affordable price tag. Mercedes-Benz then rebranded it as the C-Class, positioning it as an attainable version of the bigger E and S-Class luxury sedans.
