Overall rating 4.5/5The Mercedes EQB is designed for drivers who want electric efficiency and real-world family flexibility. Sharing its underpinnings with the GLB, but powered entirely by electricity, it represents Mercedes’ push into practical, zero-emissions motoring. First launched in the UK in 2022, the EQB has already been updated with a bigger battery and more tech for 2024. Most electric rivals – like the BMW iX3 or Tesla Model Y – only seat five, so the EQB’s extra row of seats is especially useful for larger families. All versions come well equipped, and the range includes the EQB 250+ (with the longest official range) and all-wheel-drive EQB 300 and 350 models. The EQB’s main appeal is its balance of family-friendly space, premium comfort and lower running costs, although higher trims can get pricey, and the rearmost seats are a squeeze for adults.
