Used Mercedes SLC
Known for its folding metal roof and quality build, the SLC makes open-air driving that little bit more luxurious. Launched in 2016 as the replacement for the SLK, the SLC ran until 2020, keeping the proven formula but updating the tech and engines. It stands out for its smooth folding metal roof, solid boot space and premium feel at a lower cost than larger options from the German marque. Across its single generation (2016–2020), engine options ranged from the economical SLC 180 to the powerful SLC 43. Compared with rivals like the Audi TT Roadster and BMW Z4, the SLC feels more easy-going and refined, though it's not quite as sharp in corners or exhilarating when you put your foot down. As you'd hope from Mercedes, you get a good feature set as standard, with higher trims offering luxuries like heated seats and advanced infotainment.

Premium badge and build quality

Cons
Firmer drive than rivals

Don't expect a thoroughly sporty drive
