Although the SUV market is growing ever more saturated with those on the compact and comfortable end of the scale, when the X Trail was first released it was one of only a few. Its rugged ability and minimal size initially won it many fans, and while it remains a competent workhorse with a relatively refined ride, it lacks some of the style and sophistication that modern crossover SUVs have brought to the market. While it might in this respect feel a little dated, it is reliable and reasonably efficient, as well as very practical; three attributes that aren't effected by age.
