Close to three years of ownership, and now with 100,650 miles recorded, the engine remains as sweet as it ever was. The car has 12 main dealer service stamps, and arguably it is this care that makes it drive so impressively. Clearly it has been looked after both before, and since I bought it from Mazda specialist. Acceleration is quite swift and more than adequate in most conditions, but it is the cornering potential that exceeds all expectations. The car is kart-like when out on country roads. I also have the electric roof lowered on even the coldest days, with the dash vents on a warm blow, and if necessary, the electrically heated seats, covering the chilliest of days. Generally I get between 35-45mpg, with fully comprehensive insurance less than £200pa. This quick little car has brought enjoyment back to being on the UK's poor roads.

Bought this in May 2019 at 1 year old from a dealer with 5000 miles on the clock. Got a fairly good price with it being an ex demo. Car has been totally reliable with the exception of one of the alloys showing signs of lacquer damage. Dealership agreed and replaced all 4 alloys under warranty. As of today, 8th October 2020 it has 16000 miles recorded. Like others say, it it hard to stop driving it. Running around town is a hoot and it gets even better out in the countryside. Motorway journeys can be tiresome due to the road noise. The light bodyshell transmits this inside the cabin. On the bright side, I lower the folding hard top every chance I get, even if its slightly cool. Love the smells and the sound of the engine and exhaust as I accelerate. It being my first convertible, that surprised me, as I had assumed on purchasing I would only lower the roof on rare occasions. Car handles like a dream in the dry. Just make sure your tyres are in good condition with plenty of tread as it can be a bit skittish in the wet. Overall, if it remains reliable, I would consider another. Other cars in this price range just feel so numb and disconnected. Mazda scored a home run with this both in styling and packaging. If you havn't driven one, then go out and do so. You won't be dissapointed.

Just recently purchased our second MX5. First one was a 1997 1.6 model. Not had one for 10 years. Took it for the test drive and had forgotten just how much fun it is and how brilliantly the handling is. You just don't want to stop driving. Told husband when purchasing this one that he could drive it most of the time, now we are arguing about who is going to drive it. I think everyone should have an MX5 at least once in their life. Reliability is brilliant and you do feel surprisingly safe in them.

After having to sell my sports bike because my wife loves me...…..I had my eye on an mx5 and when a cheap one came up I grabbed it!! 2004 model, limited edition euphonic with uprated stereo and LSD. Ok, it needs some work for the MOT, cambelt kit and new water pump but I just love its handling and the 'one with the machine' neutral feel. Its not cheap to run but its worth it for the grin factor and after ive poly bushed her, performance exhaust, induction kit and coil overs...…..i'll be like the proverbial Cheshire cat on a sunny sunday!!

To list cars I have owned would be too long an exercise, and I'm talking classic cars only. Bought my first MX5 March this year (2018). What a machine! I absolutely love it. Appearance, comfort, reliability. The NC Mk3 soft-top. Terrific. Great fun, even cleaning it never mind driving it! "Her indoors" also loves to go out in it, loves the fresh air feel. If you are thinking of getting one then just do it, you won't be disappointed. Suggest Mk3 2005-2010.

This is first Mazda I have owned , so far so good , I have been reviewing which 2 seater sport car to own mx5 came out on top for reliability, ownership , best running costs etc , and drivability .. Got to say it handles amazing . Best advice I can give is use car guru and other agents to get right prices for year , mileage etc , as some garages over price , AA cars is great site to help search for cars used them twice now all been ok , best advice is look , review , look at a few before you buy , always try to get lowest mileage , less previous keepers , full or as much service history as possible keep to your budget .. Happy car hunting everyone regards Richard a happy car owner

Maxda MX-5 , It is a great little convertible, good size boot, I can get all my shopping in, it also takes a big suitcase with room either side to put extras. Very comfy ride, handles very well and not as noisy as you would expect being so low down. Went to Cornwall in it recently it was a great journey, plenty of room for my husband to stretch out in. Highly recommend it, metal folding room, very quick to put up or down, so if caught in a sudden downpour only 11 seconds and you are covered.

The Mazda MX5 is the perfect way to bring back the fun to motoring. It does not require high speed to enjoy the open road. It's ability to straighten a bendy road will ensure an ear to ear grin every time.Cheap to buy, cheap to run and incredibly reliable .

this car is a roadster so there is no space at all not even a glove box but it is a car that is ever so forgiving and is just pure fun it puts a smile on your face every time it is driven the noise the road holding the acceleration all sublime. Who knew that driving inside the speed limits could still give so much enjoyment (might get to the speed limits very Quickly)

If you like seat of your pants driving this is the car for you, but at the same time it is also very sensible, easy to drive and surprisingly practical. Goes round corners as if on rails, reliable, 40mpg and a good sized boot. It is the same concept as British sports cars such as Triumphs and MGs with the main difference being it doesn't let you down.

This car has been a joy to own. Great to drive. Almost problem free - bomb proof. Showing its age now and will need some money spending on bodywork but I wouldn't begrudge it a penny. I love this car and would recommend the model, in all four incarnations, to anyone who wants to get some pleasure from driving.
