The Lexus GS 460H cannot be faulted, having driven cars of similar price made by Mercedes and BMW my car is far superior-I presently have a courtesy car which is a Mercedes CLS 350 CDI 3500 and it does not compare being noisier, less comfortable and lower spec but it looks sporty The Lexus is a very comfortable ride, economical, very quiet and never goes wrong. Also it has a lot of extras which the above Mercedes doesnt have

One of the best cars I have owned (and I have owned 53). The after-sales service by Lexus has been superb and the car has been completely reliable. It is however expensive to run and service.

Great car for touring or urban, don't try on small lanes, mountain roads. It is worth learning to drive differently, the energy monitor helps, I regularly now exceed stated MPG. Glare on the sat nav can be a pain and the seats are good but not perfect. Closing the sun/moon roof is less easy than it should be. Winter (snow) mode is still not good, too much power even when gentle and it is heavy. Super Bluetooth and steering wheel controls, good range of options. Sat Nav very clear but needs updating...still relies on radio. The boot is very small for the size, due to hybrid but still sufficient for shopping or family touring holidays. Beyond that power and pace or smooth cruising, it is a pleasure, and the CVT version of automatic is superb ... just learn how to use it. Done many miles and still happy.

Comfortable and reliable and with very good dealer service (but have to travel 45 miles to get it!). However the ride is too firm; the road noise is considerable, though the engine noise and wind noise are both very low; and the boot entry is too small to admit even moderately-sized luggage. Note: for the 2.5 litre replacement, the CO2 emission is too high (207 gm/km), and the boot entrance is still too small. Therefore, I have not taken a check ride to determine the ride quality and road noise.

Very comfortable cruiser. The best driver's seat ever. Safe and reliable. Unbeatable service and attention at Lexus dealer.

Likes. The power, road-holding,steering, braking, ease of driving, comfort of drive and boot size are all faultless. The car is built well, returns 30 mpg, and has many desirable features. Dislikes. A tapping noise in the engine, which the dealer says is standard. The engine revs at 14/1500 rpm on start-up and only settles when thoroughly warm. The dealer says this is standard. (my ten year old Rover 75 started at 750 rpm and always idled at this speed.) The left turn indicator doesn't always self cancel so it is necessary to habitually cancel it by hand to avoid dangerously indicating a left turn after completing a turn. The dealer says this is standard! The (Manually closed) boot lid can bounce open again after closing. It is possible to get it right but the force tolerance is small.

Very comfortable car, fairly expensive to run, some of the electrics are starting not to work

Mostly very good - particularly the instrument display. However, the is boot is too small, and the ride is too firm. Also, though the engine is very quiet and the wind noise is nearly absent, the tyre noise is horrendous on some surfaces. The CO2 produced by the engine is too high, but the car is about six years old. However, the new version (2500 cc) produces 207 g/km, which is much too high nowadays, resulting in high showroom and road taxes. Given a few tweaks, this could be the best medium-sized 'executive' vehicle.

For a luxury car I do not consider that low profile tyres are suitable, they give a hard drive and reduce driving comfort.

Had the car from new for 7 years and 110,000 miles. Not the most engaging drive, but apart from that it's brilliant - comfortable, powerful, fully loaded with all the right gear. And with a gentle right foot I can easily get 30mpg around town and up to 40mpg on motorways, from a 3 litre petrol engine.
