Citroen has claimed that its new 4×4, the C-Crosser, will be an "environmentally-friendly face" within its sector.
The model’s 2.2-litre diesel engine is fitted with a particulate filter system, which helps to reduce emissions to 191g/km and enables a fuel consumption rate of 40mpg on a combined cycle.
To add to its green credentials, the C-Crosser is also capable of running on 30 per cent biodiesel without modification to the system.
A six-speed manual gearbox is fitted alongside the engine, helping the 4×4 achieve 156bhp in power and a top speed of 124mph.
Two trim levels will be available with the C-Crosser – which is Citroen’s first SUV – the VTR+ and the Exclusive, offering a list of standard features including six airbags, an alarm, automatic headlamps, sliding and reclining second row seats and cruise control.
On the style side, the new vehicle boasts signature badging, a chrome finish, a sloping roofline and two-tone alloy wheels.
Being a 4×4, the C-Crosser also offers practicality, with over 20 individual storage compartments and total potential load space of 1,686 litres.
