Now into its third generation and facing incredibly stiff competition, the Prius is more than just a green status symbol for Hollywood celebrities, it is a car which is both affordable and run and comfortable to drive. Over 70mpg and under 90g/km CO2 emissions in the new generation car don't make it hybrid-market leading in terms of efficiency, and while it's never going to appeal to anyone with the need for speed, it boasts a far better all-round drive than many in its class.
