Well over half way to Le Mans

The Audi R10 TDI racing team of Allan McNish, with co-drivers Dindo Capello and seven-time Le Mans winner Tom Kristensen, are travelling to Florida to practice for the Sebring 12 hour race, which will be held on Saturday March 15th.

The Sebring 12 hours is regarded as good preparation for the Le Mans 24 hour endurance race in June.

"Sebring is a special, historic race and very important for a driver," confirmed Allan McNish, who makes his sixth appearance in the annual race.

"I’m really looking forward to getting the season with Audi under way and there could be no better way than scoring my third Sebring 12 Hour victory. The track is old and bumpy but also fast and flowing with lots of character. These extra demands add something to the event and make it one of the hardest races of the year for the car and driver – especially under the normally hot and intense Florida sunshine."

In 2001, the record of 1,369 miles (370 laps) was set by achieving an average speed of 113.983mph by the Audi R8 team of Capello, Alboreto and Aiello.
