Recent reviews

  • Kia Ceed

    Kia Ceed

    3.8/5

It’s a challenge to enter a segment populated by the Volkswagen Golf and Ford Focus, but that’s what Kia did with the Ceed. The third-generation car, introduced in 2018, showcased a bold new side to the Kia and a much simpler moniker. While its discontinuation was announced in 2025, the Ceed remains a great option for buyers looking for a value-focused all-rounder, while the more adventure-inspired XCeed continues to be available new.

  • Jaecoo 7

    Jaecoo 7

    3.7/5

There are few cars which have experienced such a meteoric rise in popularity quite like the Jaecoo 7. Offering the chunky looks of an off-roader but with an on-road focus, the 7’s practical size is backed by loads of technology and, most importantly, a price tag which undercuts nearly everything else in its segment.

  • Hyundai KONA

    Hyundai KONA

    4.0/5

The second generation Kona built on the work of Hyundai’s original, increasing the size of its popular compact SUV to ensure it is safer, more practical and more comfortable to use as an everyday family car. In fact, the Kona was originally conceived as an electric-first model, but the South Korean marque developed petrol and hybrid options alongside it in order to broaden its appeal. The sharp, futuristic exterior styling will divide opinion and the lower-powered petrol options require a fair degree of patience, but the Kona is otherwise an affordable and practical small family car that’s built tough and features Hyundai’s latest infotainment technology.

  • Hyundai Ioniq 5

    Hyundai Ioniq 5

    4.2/5

With its space-age styling and bold character, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 has established itself as one of Europe’s most acclaimed and more interesting electric SUVs since its launch in 2021. Its striking retro-futuristic design meets with advanced EV technology, plus a spacious interior and surprisingly agile dynamics. It’s built on Hyundai’s dedicated E-GMP platform, offering ultra-fast charging up to 800v. Now established in the market, the Ioniq 5 continues to impress and feel fresh, with a choice of battery sizes and rear- or all-wheel drive, plus a host of advanced tech and safety features. It’s not cheap, but its low running costs, strong resale values, and Hyundai’s reputation for reliability give it appeal.

  • Hyundai I20

    Hyundai I20

    4.0/5

In a class traditionally dominated by the Ford Fiesta and Vauxhall Corsa, it can be tough for new entrants to muscle their way in on the action. However, since launching back in 2009, that is exactly what the Hyundai i20 has managed to do. The current car offers bold styling, generous equipment levels, and technology pulled straight from Hyundai’s more premium larger models, which all come together to offer a genuine alternative to the more established Corsa.. Despite the changes, the i20 has never lost sight of what made it good in the first place – class-leading practicality and dependable engineering. This has only been helped by a 2023 facelift, meaning that the i20 represents a very strong proposition for any urban drivers.

  • Honda Jazz

    Honda Jazz

    4.0/5

Space and versatility have been bywords for the Honda Jazz since the original model made its debut in 2002, bringing new levels of passenger comfort, load volume and versatility to the supermini class. The latest generation, introduced in 2020, delivers more of the same, but with an advanced hybrid powertrain and a focus on comfort, practicality, and advanced safety. It’s a refined and well-engineered contender in the supermini class, with a loyal following. The latest model focuses on all the things that made the original Jazz great – it’s unassuming and there’s no performance model, but it delivers on its brief with complete competence.
