Alex Gur

Roadside Patrol

Alexander Gur is a Roadside Patrol at The AA, with more than 20 years of hands-on experience across garage and roadside roles, as well as a strong personal interest in performance cars.

Alexander has worked in the motor trade for more than two decades. His background includes 5 years of garage experience, 7 years with Green Flag, and 8 years with The AA. Over that time, he has built strong practical knowledge of vehicle faults, roadside repairs, and day-to-day maintenance across a wide range of makes and models.

His experience in both workshop and roadside environments gives him a clear understanding of the problems drivers face in real-world conditions. That hands-on background helps him offer straightforward, experience-based insight from a technician’s point of view.

Outside of work, Alexander has a particular interest in Volkswagen Group cars. He enjoys going to the gym and working on his own vehicles, including an Audi S3 and a Volkswagen Golf Edition 35.

    BMW X6

    3.8/5

BMW kicked off the trend for the coupe-inspired SUV when it launched the original X6. Now into its third generation, this style-conscious high-rider remains a popular choice. Bringing the space, you’d expect from an SUV but with an extra dose of character, the X6 is aimed at drivers who want an SUV with a bit of flair.

  • Mercedes CLA

    Mercedes CLA

    4.0/5

The Mercedes CLA arrived as a way of combining the compact proportions of your typical hatchback with the sleek, effortless style of a saloon. Equipped with the usual Mercedes finery that you’d expect, the CLA brings a more style-conscious approach, despite sharing much of its mechanical underpinnings with the standard A-Class hatch. With loads of technology on board and a range of efficient yet punchy engines, the CLA remains a very appealing prospect today.

  • Audi Q3

    Audi Q3

    4.2/5

Since its launch in 2011, the Q3 has become one of Audi’s most successful models, leaving the brand with little reason to change a winning formula. Instead, the 2026 model is an evolution with sharper styling, a more modern cabin and other refinements to make it more complete than ever. We spent time with the new Audi Q3 265 TFSI to find out whether those changes have produced a more accomplished luxury SUV.
