Launched in 1988, the Vitara has become a key part of Suzuki's line-up as an affordable 4x4 that doesn't compromise on off-roading ability. Launched in three-door form, a five-door model would join the line-up a few years later, and for a few generations, the name changed to the Grand Vitara.
The current, most popular generation reached showrooms in 2015, offering a more modern design inside and out, and it's proven a hit with customers - helped by front-wheel-drive versions to appeal to those looking for a crossover, but not fussed about any extra off-roading ability. Mild-hybrid engines were launched in 2020, while in 2022 Suzuki introduced a 'Full Hybrid' for customers wanting to take a step closer to an EV.
