Renault prepares for 2007 track days

Renaultsport has informed its customers of the dates of this year’s track days – occasions on which Renault owners can exploit the full potential of their cars in a racing environment.

Track days are scheduled for Brands Hatch on May 14th, Bedford Autodrome on the evening of July 13th, Oulton Park on August 21st and Cadwell Park on September 18th. There will also be an opportunity at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit in Belgium on September 23rd.

According to Renault, there is "no better time" for these dates to be announced, with models such as its Clio Renaultsport 197 and Megane Renaultsport 175 currently "taking the motoring world by storm".

The UK is one of the French manufacturer’s primary export markets and currently accounts for more sales of its high performance sport models than anywhere else in the world.

Jeremy Townsend, communications manager for Renault UK, said: "Renaultsport track days are the ideal way of letting our customers share our passion for motorsport as well as giving them the opportunity to realise the full potential of their cars in a safe and laid-back atmosphere.

"Our track day programme continues to grow year-on-year, to the extent that we’re even now welcoming Renaultsport customers over from France at some of this year’s events."

Mr Townsend expressed Renault’s hope that these track days will continue to rise in popularity as the marque’s performance division grows.
