Renault Conquest to hit the roads this year

Renault has announced that its new Scenic Conquest model will be hitting roads this year as the manufacturer looks to "explore new market territories".

The new model has been designed to combine the space and practicality of a compact MPV with the "aggressive, rugged style" of an SUV.

Part of the vehicle’s adaptability is represented in its revised chassis, which offers a 20mm increase in ride height and stiffened suspension. This setup is described as "ideal" for use on both city streets and country roads.

According to Renault, the Scenic Conquest will provide these on-road capabilities without the traditional drawbacks of high weight, fuel consumption and CO2 emissions that are associated with 4x4s.

The model has also been designed with an "adventurous" look, featuring dark lens headlamp covers, 16-inch alloy sports wheels and a black graphite bumper incorporating a satin chrome-coloured skidplate.

There will be a choice of four engines available for this new vehicle – two petrol and two diesel units, offering between 106bhp and 136bhp.

Renault’s Scenic Conquest will be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show and will be available to order in the UK in June.
