Used Skoda Roomster for sale

The Skoda Roomster comes with six airbags as standard (front, side and curtain), Isofix child seat mounts, and high-strength safety cells. Most versions from 2009 onwards include stability control (ESP) as standard. The Roomster achieved a top five-star Euro NCAP safety rating – especially reassuring for families.

Roomsters were offered with a range of petrol and diesel engines. Early models (2006-2009) featured 1.2, 1.4 and 1.6-litre petrol units, plus 1.4 and 1.9-litre diesels. Later cars offered efficient 1.2 TSI petrols and 1.6 TDI diesels. The 1.4 petrol is the sweet spot, but diesels offer lower running costs on longer journeys.

Early Roomsters were simple, with a CD player, MP3 input and front electric windows. Mid-spec trims bring air conditioning and alloy wheels, while later SE and Scout models add cruise control, parking sensors and – on higher trims – climate control. Infotainment is basic compared to newer cars, but very easy to use.

Official figures put the petrol Roomster around 40–43mpg, while diesel versions push 53–55mpg officially. In the real world, expect 35–40mpg from petrols, and up to 50mpg for diesels if you drive gently – especially on longer runs.

Most Roomsters are robust, but check for sunroof leaks, noisy air-con and clutch wear, especially on high-mileage diesels. All models except the 1.2-litre need a cambelt change every four years or 60,000 miles. Ensure any airbag recall work has been completed. The Skoda Roomster has a strong record for reliability. Most issues relate to minor trim or electrical faults rather than major mechanical problems. Routine maintenance is key, but the majority of owners find their Roomsters durable, practical and capable – just as Skoda intended.
