The Rapid's design is only really distinct for its simplicity, but inside it is far more comfortable and solid - if a little Spartan - than its exterior. There is plenty of space however, which gives room for four large adults and a wide, easy-to-access boot with a 550 litre capacity. Of the engines available, the 1.2 litre 84bhp option is the best for its mix of cost and performance, while the 1.6 litre diesel offers more power. Relatively inexpensive as well as affordable to run, the Rapid is yet another reliable and excellent value option in the strong Skoda range.
