Seat Leon Cupra goes on sale in the UK

Dealers across the UK have taken delivery of Seat’s most powerful production car to date, the new Leon Cupra, which goes on sale today.

This new model will be powered by a two-litre engine, enabling it to reach 62mph from a standstill in 6.4 seconds and hit a top speed of 153mph.

There are a number of enhancements over existing Leon models, including 18-inch alloy wheels, red brake callipers, bi-xenon headlights, racing-style bucket seats, lower ride height and aluminium front suspension components.

Also coming as standard is a twin-zone climate control system, four electric windows, steering wheel-mounted radio controls, a trip computer and cruise control.

Driving the new Leon Cupra will be an experience for all the senses, as the car also has a ‘Seat sound’ exhaust system, which produces a low rumble at low speeds and a rasping tone at high speeds.

Seat expects its new car to sell more in the UK than anywhere else in the world, following the popularity of the previous FR and Cupra models on the back of Seat’s participation in the British and World Touring Car Championships.
