  • Cupra Tavascan

    Cupra Tavascan

    4.0/5

Cupra has made great strides since it split off from its former parent company Seat to become a manufacturer in its own right. Following on from the Born, this car - the Tavascan - has been developed to showcase all of Cupra’s flair for style and character in an electric vehicle with a decent range and lots of technology. It thrives in a competitive space that comprises of stylish SUVs such as the Polestar 2 and the Ford Capri.

Historically bringing the firm’s finest and latest technology, this luxurious limousine is a joy to be a passenger in, but it’s also a great experience for whoever is behind the wheel, too. • BYD Sealion 7

    BYD Sealion 7

    4.0/5

The past few years have seen an influx of new Chinese car brands arrive in Britain with the aim of conquering the UK automotive market. However, while many have tried, few have achieved the success of BYD. Designed to take on the likes of the Tesla Model Y, Volkswagen ID.4 and Ford Mustang Mach-E, the Sealion 7 aims to blend bold styling, impressive performance and the very best technology with a lucrative price tag that buyers just can’t say no to. But is the Sealion 7 the real deal or just another flash in the pan? We’ve been taking a closer look at the car to find out.

  • Peugeot 508

    Peugeot 508

    3.7/5

First launched in 2011, the second-generation Peugeot 508 arrived in 2018, before being given a sharp and modern facelift back in 2023. Peugeot has gone through something of a revival in the last decade and the 508 continued the brand’s pattern of ditching its dull and conservative approach of the Noughties in favour of more eye-catching and interesting design. With its low roofline, frameless doors and dramatic lighting signatures, the 508 was able to stand out among rivals like the Audi A4, BMW 3 Series and Skoda Superb, even several years after its introduction.

  • Skoda Kamiq

    Skoda Kamiq

    3.9/5

Recent decades have seen Czech brand Skoda undergo something of an image change. The outfit has transformed public perceptions with a swathe of interesting and funky offerings, especially in the world of SUVs. Sitting below the larger Karoq and Kodiaq, the Kamiq was designed to go up against the likes of the Nissan Juke, Volkswagen T-Cross and Peugeot 2008 in the extremely crowded compact SUV segment. The car shares the same underpinnings as its stablemate – the T-Cross – and benefits from modern safety tech and a range of efficient petrol engines. While it may not be the boldest or most exciting option on the market, it is among the most solid, dependable and well-priced choices in its segment. But is the Kamiq worth considering? We’ve been taking a closer look to find out.

  • Land Rover Discovery Sport

    Land Rover Discovery Sport

    4.0/5

As the baby in the Land Rover line-up, the Discovery Sport has had a key role to play for the historic British brand, ever since it first arrived on our roads way back in 2014. Sitting beneath the standard Discovery and the more off-road focused Defender, the model has long been pitched as a more accessible route into the world of Land Rover ownership. Given an extensive facelift in 2019, the car now competes in the highly congested mid-sized SUV market, which includes rivals like the BMW X3, Audi Q5, Volvo XC60 and Lexus NX. With so much competition, the Discovery Sport has always had to work hard to keep up the pace, but its excellent all-round package, which even includes a seven-seat option, means that it has always been a popular choice.
