Insure against used car MOT failure

Used Vauxhall, Saab, Chevrolet and Daewoo cars, with less than 80,000 miles on the odometer, and which are younger than eight-years-old, can be insured against MOT failure.

The insurance has to be taken out prior to six months before the MOT due date, and is only valid for cars which have a full service history in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations.

For an annual premium of just £75, lighting, steering and suspension, brakes, fuel system, mirrors and seatbelts are all covered, should your car or car-derived van fail its MOT.

Repairs are authorised up to a total value of £750.

Used car sellers can transfer the existing policy to the new owner.

The GM Aftersales policy is available at participating Vauxhall MasterFit Centres, across the 400-strong network throughout the UK.
