Overall rating 4.5/5While it might still have some way to go before it rivals the class' best, the Cruze is a comfortable, well-built and relaxed alternative to the sportier minded hatchbacks on the market.

Overall rating 4.5/5Chevrolet may be one of the biggest manufacturers in the world, but they have traditionally had little impact in Europe and the UK. The last few years has seen a number of cars designed with the European market in mind however, including the Cruze, which in the UK takes the form of a five door hatchback (elsewhere its more popular form is as a saloon). The Cruze is at its best on the motorway, where the 2.0 litre diesel engine offers a pleasing mix of efficiency, power and refinement. Inside, the cabin is comfortable and spacious, with an emphasis on quality and featuring good levels of equipment.
