You wait ages for a new Chevrolet car and then four come along at the same time!
The Volt, Orlando, Cruze and Camaro will make their debuts at the 2008 Paris Motor Show – a line-up which its manufacturer claims is proof of its commitment to growing its sales in Europe.
The Volt is a full-size four-seater saloon car, with excellent luggage and passenger space and stylish, contemporary looks. But it is its green credentials which really stand out. It has the the ability to travel up to 40 miles with absolutely no exhaust tailpipe emissions whatsoever. Production will begin in 2010.
Chevrolets first entry into the European seven-seat compact MPV market, the Orlando, has a practical seven-seat theatre-style [curlies]seating layout that is sure to impress when it makes its production premiere next year.
Available even sooner, in the spring, is the Cruze, which has a four-door coupe-like profile and (Chevrolet claims) "an upmarket feel that buyers wouldn’t necessarily expect from a value brand".
Last, but by no means least, the Camaro marks the modern rebirth of a 1967 design classic. European showrooms should be stocking this model by 2010.
