Smart started selling cars back in 2000, entering the UK market with its range of urban-focused cars that had a quirky design, which looked to maximise space in a car with a very small footprint. Famously, it could park nose-in to a roadside space and still occupy the same width as a vehicle parked lengthwise.

In 2019, Smart announced that it would be going completely electric as a business. That started with battery-powered versions of its ForTwo and ForFour models, but has quickly evolved into more modern, tech-heavy examples which are on sale today.
