Renault Megane reviews

All manufacturers are not honest about there stated ecnomy figures.There cars are tested under laboritory conditions and are not achievable under normal road tests.They should be honest and state this when advertising there products.

Comfortable car for long journeys, not very responsive when pulling away from a stop position and terrible problems with electrics especially windows. Fuel economy is good and overall little repair work needed.

Bought as used this year 2013, very low mileage 27500. has leather seating, automatic light sensors, very good dashboard layout with warning capability for many aspects of your motoring safety whilst driving.

A reliable and roomy car bue Renault are not very speedy at supplying parts e.g. window winder motors which are not regular service items. Servicing is efficient and the vehicle has performed well for several years. I would replace it with a similar new model.

Good run around which is very easy to drive but low on power which can make it uncomfortable sometimes. Never let me down but have had to replace numerous parts due to age.

My 1st new car ,my 1st French car. So far so good-no problems. It runs well. waiting for winter conditions to give it a full appraisal.

I have been somewhat surprised with this car, Renault's historically not being at the top of quality or reliability lists, but I can't say that at all with this car, it has been more or less faultless so far (105000 miles). Comfort is excellent, fuel consumption averages between 45 & 50 mpg, it's done and still doing the job I ask of it.

Great car. Problems with bulbs in lights 'going' regularly and needing to get them changed at garages, as soooooo inaccessible, but otherwise, Meggie's great! (Touch wood)!

The car is now at the stage when I should get rid of it BUT it still hasn't let me down SO I will keep it

My Megane is a good all-round car but it lacks any pulling power instead of feeling like a 1600 its more like a 1000cc.

Really amazing car - drives cambridge to newcastle on the a1 on less than a tank of fuel! Great car

Surprisingly good performance for a 1.5L turbo diesel. No road tax costs, very economical. Good boot space, comfortable enough for up to 4 adults. Stop / start feature engages automatically but unpredictably, ie don't know criteria for when it is available or not. Overall very satisfied with this car.

This car fulfils all of our needs as a main car. It is comfortable for long drives - is economical (54mpg average and up to 60 mpg on a long run)- spacious- good sized boot - well equipped - Sat-Nav as standard- adequate performance - easy to keep clean - looks well- has a proper spare wheel.

A thoroughly enjoyable family car to drive with sufficient power to cater for all normal needs. Very good at 70mph on French motorways.

Good car - drives well, performance is good for a 1.5 diesel. Just don't believe Renault's stated figures for fuel consumption, as the car doesn't get anywhere near their 70+ mpg

A great family car, that is cheap to run. A bit slow to take off but you get there eventually. I love my megane and although it now could do with a little care and maintenance, I have had no major issues with it. I would not swap it and totally reccommend them.

Had my Megane for over two years now and has never let me down. I have had to change a couple of bulbs during this time, 1 service so far and a ball joint replaced. Very spacious car and very comfortable, it starts 1st time even during the winter. I would certainly recommend a Renault Megane and would look at another one myself when I come to replace my current one.
