The 2023 Toyota Yaris Hybrid GR Sport is a sport-styled version of the standard Yaris self-charging hybrid hatchback, designed to give buyers a more dynamic look and feel without changing the fundamental efficiency and practicality of the regular hybrid Yaris. It sits above the more mainstream trims in the Yaris line-up and is aimed at drivers who want a bit of extra presence and sharper handling without moving into high-performance territory
What makes the GR Sport different is mostly handling and styling enhancements rather than outright power. The suspension is tuned to be a little firmer and more responsive than standard Yaris models, with retuned shock absorbers and spring rates aimed at giving a sharper feel through bends and quicker responses at lower speeds. Body rigidity is improved with additional bracing compared with less sporty trims, which helps handling and stability.
