New figures just released by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders have shown that the Ford Fiesta was Britain’s best-selling car in November.
The enduring popularity of Ford cars is something that used Ford dealers can attest to – the Ford Focus was the second best-seller and the Mondeo the fourth.
In fact Ford’s car range accounted for 18.5 per cent of all November’s registrations. This is 5.2 per cent higher than the market share the company enjoyed in November 2007.
The stylish new Ford Fiesta is proving to be a welcome addition to the range. Following its October launch it attracted 1,000 more retail buyers in November than bought the prior model in the same month last year.
Roelant de Waard, Ford Britain chairman and managing director, said: "The best Ford range ever is cushioning us against the worst of the market downturn.
"The deck of cards is being reshuffled in favour of Ford’s combination of head-turning exterior styling, high-spec interiors plus low fuel consumption and CO2 output."
