Expert Opinion

The Hyundai Terracan is far and away from the urbane and sedate SUVs in the Hyundai range today, and is instead geared towards rugged ability and all-terrain cruising. Its size is a clear indication of this, which, just short of the Jeep Grand Cherokee, gives it a little under 2000 litres of storage space and five good sized seats. The only engine option is a 2.9 litre turbodiesel, which along with a high and low ratio gearbox gives the Terracan good, rugged power, making it a seriously able off road car. This doesn't translate too well on tarmac, but for those looking for an affordable off road vehicle which isn't too out of place on the road, there are few which present as good value as the Terracan can.
