A mid-sized exec to rival the BMW 5 Series, the GS is a luxury, powerful car which like the bulk of the Lexus range, features a petrol-electric hybrid engine - an unusual choice for such a sizeable car. What it does bring about however, is good efficiency figures: miles per gallons returns averages around the high forties, while CO2 emissions are equally low at 137g/km. Both afford owners low run costs, which along with impressive power (0-62mph in just under six seconds), makes it as efficient as it is exciting. As to be expected, equipment levels are good, and a quality interior makes for a comfortable, premium ride at all times.
