Mercedes celebrates March success

Mercedes-Benz has celebrated the fact that March 2007 was its "most successful month ever".

The manufacturer cites figures from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders showing that 16,649 new cars were registered last month, just beating the previous best attained in March 2006.

Healthy sales figures were achieved across the range, with the C-Class Estate registering 826 new units and the S-Class seeing 619 new registrations.

Some 169 CL-Class models were registered in the vehicle’s launch month, while another 308 R-Class variants received their registrations.

Simon Oldfield, sales director for the Mercedes group, said: "To achieve these excellent results in a tough market and with our highest volume model in very limited supply is a tribute to the efforts of sales teams in our retailers around the country and to the excellence of the whole Mercedes-Benz product range.

"This great sales performance was supported by a range of, mainly, finance offers which highlighted the excellent value for money our cars represent."

Availability of Mercedes’ range of finance offers has been extended until June 30th 2007, with 36-month payment plans available for A-Class, CLK 220 and E-Class Saloon models, among others.
