Kia Cee’d picks up two awards

Kia’s cee’d model has picked up two new awards – the green accolade in the Practical Caravan Towcar Awards and the best hatchback honour in the What Diesel Car? awards.

A total of 50 vehicles were tested for the Towcar Awards and the cee’d came out on top for its environmental performance and also gained praise for being "well built and well finished".

The judges of the awards were looking for a car that blended towing ability with economy and low emissions.

In giving the best hatchback honour to the cee’d, What Diesel Car? said that the Kia model "sends a clear message" to the likes of Ford, Vauxhall and Renault that the automaker will be a major figure in the hatchback market.

Paul Philpott, managing director of Kia UK, said: "The Kia cee’d continues to be a success story in its own right.

"Two more awards underline the design, quality, engineering, style and the substance of the cee’d and the seven-year warranty shows our faith in the car."
