The first Sorento (released in 2002), made little impact on the large SUV market, and was generally regarded, much like the rest of the Kia range at the time, as forgettable. Since then however, much has changed, and so it comes as no surprise that the second generation Sorento is a world away from the underwhelming first model. Like many of its SUV rivals, it isn't necessarily made to be taken off road, but on the road it is competent with good handling and a comfortable ride. With seven seats and extra luggage space, the practical uses of the Sorento are assured.
