Overall rating 4/5The Rio might not quite be at the same level as its rivals the Polo or the Fiesta, but it is a well-priced, efficient alternative.

Along with the Picanto and the Ceed, the Rio makes up a Kia range that is growing ever stronger, and is part of the reason the Korean manufacturer is now one of the fastest growing in the world. Although the supermini class is a crowded one with many excellent cars, the Rio manages to stand out with its reliability and efficiency (up to 88mpg), its stable ride, and its nimble handling. An incredibly low price makes it even more attractive, but also means that it comes sparsely equipped (unless you opt for extras).
