Jaguar owners break parade record

The Guinness world record has been broken for the longest parade of Jaguar cars.

Over 200 models bearing the famous cat symbol gathered at Attingham Park in Shrewsbury at the weekend, with both current and vintage models among them.

Classic E-Types and powerful new XKR sports cars were among the notable members of the 218-car parade.

The procession, which set off from Attingham Park to drive a four-mile journey to Uffington, was organised by Jaguar dealer Hatfields of Shrewsbury.

After completing their journey, many of the drivers in the convoy returned to the National Trust property to enjoy a champagne reception and hog roast.

Craig Petty, sales manager for Hatfields, said: “Despite some heavy rain the day was a complete success and our efforts will be rewarded with a place in the history books.

“The Hatfields team is delighted to have played a part in bringing together so many enthusiasts from all over the country for this memorable occasion.”

Guinness World Records is expected to ratify the attempt in the coming weeks.
