Used Infiniti cars for sale
Infiniti models aim to bring an extra level of luxury to standard Toyota cars, in a similar vein as what Lexus is to Toyota. Short-lived in the UK, Infiniti cars make for a quirky alternative to the mainstream options.

Infiniti saw a good level of success in America and aimed to replicate some of that popularity to the UK when it launched in Europe in 2009. Arriving with a range of upmarket models, Infiniti went after the established premium rivals such as BMW and Mercedes, but never really got up to speed and in 2020, it ceased operations in the UK.
Today, there is a small range of Infiniti models available on the used market that offer a slightly left-field choice for those after a car with a premium look and feel.
Some of the newest Infiniti models bring a good level of safety, with cars like the Q30 gaining a five-star safety rating when tested by Euro NCAP in 2015. Key safety features include automatic emergency braking, a full range of airbags and a traction control system. Buyers could add extra packs to introduce more high-tech safety features - such as blind spot warning systems - so check that these have been fitted to a used model you’re looking at to ensure they’ve got the best level of safety equipment available.
The latest Infiniti models offer a good range of efficiency scores depending on which engine you choose. Petrol-powered Q30 cars can return around 47mpg, while diesel versions should be able to return over 65mpg. Cars like the Q50 saloon should also prove efficient to run, thanks to a claimed combined fuel economy of 64.2mpg
You can pick up the large and practical FX SUV for just over £5,750, albeit with reasonably high mileage. The Q30 hatchback, meanwhile, starts from just under £6,000 for a well-maintained example with average mileage. At the other end of the scale, a 2019-plate QX30 crossover will come in at around £12,995.
Infiniti only sold two hybrid models during its time in the UK, with the Q50 Hybrid and Q70. Both utilised a powerful 3.5-litre V6 engine coupled to an electric motor and battery. However, neither of these models is that common on the used market.
Because Infiniti was backed by Nissan’s technology, it could offer a decent level of reliability. The Q30 used a combination of Nissan and Mercedes parts, in fact, which should help it to do well reliability-wise. However, as with all cars, we’d recommend making sure that any Infiniti that you’re looking to buy has a good history of routine servicing and maintenance.
While Infiniti may have left the UK in 2020, Nissan dealerships were still able to service and maintain the cars, so look out for dealer stamps when inspecting a car. Some interior plastics on Infiniti cars were a bit flimsy, too, so check that these are all intact and without damage. For a better all-round view of a car’s health, consider an AA Vehicle Inspection. We’ll send out a trained engineer to inspect the car and afterwards, they’ll be able to relay their findings to you via a detailed report.
If you’re looking to get a detailed inspection of a used Infiniti car, then consider an AA Vehicle Inspection. Check out our dedicated page to find out more.
