Kwik-Fit underlines driver safety message

Kwik-Fit has stressed that drivers must not ignore basic safety measures when using their cars and given its support to Bridgestone’s Think Before You Drive campaign.

Throughout the week running from April 23rd to 29th, Kwik-Fit will be offering free tyre checks on behalf of Bridgestone.

There are a number of basic steps that Bridgestone’s campaign advises people to remember, including the use of seatbelts and child seats, the proper positioning of head rests and, perhaps most importantly, to carry out checks on tyres.

David White, customer services director at Kwik-Fit, said: "People who drive on bald or under-pressurised tyres put both their own and other people’s lives at risk and there is simply no excuse for this.

"While Global Safety Week is a great initiative to bring this issue to the fore we would urge all motorists to regularly have their car tyres checked – not just during this week."

John McNaught, managing director of Bridgestone UK, described the types of checks on offer at Kwik-Fit stores as "vital".
