Expert Opinion

The C8 is one of the largest offerings in the Citroen range, and adds to the French manufacturer's extensive collection of sizeable family vehicles. Designed along with a number of European manufacturers (including Peugeot, Fiat and Lancia), the C8 is both luxurious and practical, featuring seven comfortable seats, an impressive amount of standard equipment and smooth and refined HDI engines. Electrically operated sliding doors make entry and exit into the expansive cabin a doddle - up to 2948 litres is available with all folding and seat-manoeuvring done - while on the road it is at its best when cruising. A lack of nimble ability limits its city driving, but its beefier engines (the 2.2 litre HDI in particular), gives it calm power on the motorway. The C8 has since been discontinued in favour of Citroen's larger crossover options, but it remains one of the most spacious, family-friendly MPVs around.
