Powerful, stylish and luxurious, Maserati - like their rivals and countrymen Ferrari - manufacture cars which are at the top end of the scale. Desirable and as enjoyable to be seen driving as they are to actually drive, Maserati is one special marque.

1914 is the year when brothers Alfieri, Ettore, and Ernesto Maserati founded the Maserati brand represented by the trident badge. The company initially produced spark plugs for aircrafts until they made the Tipo 26, the brand’s first car in 1920. In 1937 Maserati brothers sold the company to the Modena industrialist Adolfo Orsi but remained with the business for the next 10 years. The brand developed numerous race cars in this time period and expanded to GT cars after the war.
The first Maserati GT was the A6 500, featuring a six-cylinder engine and body design by Battista (Pininfarina). Later in 1957, the accomplished driver Juan Manuel Fangio won the first Formula One Grand Prix championship in 1957 with a Maserati race car. The brand was then partially owned by Citroen, and then bought by Alejandro de Tomaso, and later purchased by Chrysler corporation. Currently under Fiat’s portfolio of brands, Maserati went through a revamp phase in early 2000s with new models featuring sonorous V8 engines. Some iconic and modern models include Quattroporte, MC20, GranTurismo, Ghibli, Grecale, Levante, 3500GT, Tipo models, 5000 GT, Bora, Khamsin, MC12, etc.
In short, Maserati is a luxury sports brand with rich history and a status that is unique. It’s racing pedigree, Italian design chops, and high-performance engine and chassis shine through, even in modern sedans and SUVs.
