On the brink of the new Formula One season, McLaren star Lewis Hamilton has said he plans to adopt a different strategy in an attempt to win the world title.
Last year, Hamilton came perilously close to winning the championship in his first year in Formula One, but was eventually pipped at the post by Ferrari driver Kimi Raikkonen.
However, Hamilton says his new outlook will hopefully prevent further disappointment this year.
"If I’m leading the championship, I won’t be pushing way over the limit to win the race," he said.
"I’ll be conservative and finish with the points. I’m chasing the same dream but in a slightly different way."
The new season kicks off on Sunday in Melbourne, and Hamilton looks set for a strong showing he was fastest in the second free practice session on Friday.
Raikkonen was fastest earlier on.
