It has been announced that Lewis Hamilton is to race Scottish Olympic cycling hero Chris Hoy at Wembley later this year.
December 14th will be a busy day for the new world Formula One champion. Early that evening he will drive a Mercedes-Benz road car to take on triple Olympic gold medal winner Hoy.
Then he will be involved in another race – to dash to the Sports Personality of the Year Awards, where he is the red-hot favourite to win.
The Race of Champions is the event where Hamilton and his machine will take on Hoy and his bike on a "tight and twisty course".
Hamilton promised: "The atmosphere is going to be crazy.
"Its going to be a great way to end a fantastic year, and Im really looking forward to putting on a show to thank the fans from all over the world and my fantastic British fans for all their support."
Hoy commented: Im a big motor racing fan anyway and Ive seen The Race of Champions on TV so to be there in the flesh is going to be great."
