Air Avoids Parking Permit Penalty

After a mix up with London parking permits, TV Presenter Donna Air has been labelled an airhead, and couldn’t be happier.

Isleworth Crown Court found that Air did not apply for parking permits for the boroughs of Kensington & Chelsea and Westminster to cheat the system.

After just 14 minutes deliberation, a jury decided that she had a property in each location and did not realise permit rules forbidding dual passes.

Prosecuting Kensington and Chelsea Council claimed that Air applied for a £110 parking permit for the borough, while living (and parking) in the neighbouring Westminster, to avoid paying more £5,650 in on-street parking charges. Addressing the court, Air’s silver-tongued barrister Benn Maguire, said of the presenter: ‘There was not a lot going on in her head.’
